How can I tune my guitar to standard without breaking my high E string?

There's a problem I have with my guitar, and I know other people also have it. When I'm tuning my guitar from Standard to Drop C, there is no problem. When I want to tune it from Drop C to Standard, my high E string usually breaks. Also my friends say that they have problems when the whole bridge could break. What should I do to fix this on Fender Stratocasters and Jackson Randy Rhoads?
