Would I ever have a real chance with her?

She is a cheerleader and a girly type. She likes pop and alternative rock we used to hang out a lot. I am classified as a nerdy/emo/punk/metal head/skater. I really do have strong feelings for her. I really do. It might be the beginning of love. The thing is that when I tell her I love her and miss her she says the same back to me. At the time I feel special but she says "I love you" and "I miss you" to everyone so the feeling fades. All of her ex boyfriends are jocks but she told me ones she is tiered of guys like that. Yet she always hangs out with them. Do you think I should turn into a jock to impress her? I am pretty athletic I just don't have my live revolving on sports. Or should I just stay the way I am and hope she will one day take what I say seriously?
